Why do you do these treatments as a dental office?

  • Your dentist is usually your first line of help when dealing with TMJ Disorders, for which Botox can be a helpful therapy
  • To get the best esthetic results when doing comprehensive dental treatments it is often necessary to adjust muscle tensions and tissue thickness. Dermal fillers and Botox both help acheive these superior results that we aim for at Snoqualmie Falls Dental
  • Few health care practitioners know as much about head and neck anatomy as dentists and dental specialists
  • As a group, nobody gives more injections into facial tissues than dentists. This means that we can make the experience very comfortable for you

Botox Info

  • What areas are often treated with Botox? Whether you are being treated for pain or wrinkles injections are usually the same because the muscles that cause head aches also cause wrinkles. We also treat problems like gummy smiles by injecting the upper lip muscles to drop the lip down and cover excessive gums to make the smile look more natural.

Botox Myths

  • Is Botox still considered new? No, it has been used for therapy in humans for over 30 years.
  • Does Botox pull the skin tight? No, Botox relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles resulting in little to no wrinkles after treatment.
  • Do I lose all expression if I get Botox? No, originally much larger dosages were used than those used today. Experience has shown that lower dosages can still achieve good esthetic results without over compromising facial expressions.
  • Most problems that you’ve may have heard of about are either from early treaments before practionioners learned how to more conservatively use Botox or people without proper training performing the procedure. Dr. Calderwood has taken several hands on courses and uses very conservative techniques.
  • How long does Botox last? It usually starts to wear off anywhere from 3-6 months. Each additional treatment will last a little longer.
  • Can it be done preventatively? Yes, you can use Botox before you wrinkles become permanent to avoid getting the lines!
  • How am I charged? Botox is charged by how many units you get. Depending on the area you will get up to 20 units in some of the larger muscles.
  • Are there any side effects? Very rarely and if so, they are only temporary. Symptoms include droopy eye lid, headache or temporary nausea.
